For years, Arcade1Up has been developing video game cabinets that allow players to enjoy the arcade experience at home. And, Shacknews has just discovered at E3 2019, the latest cabinet goes straight back to the heyday of classic Star Wars titles, offering up the namesake Star Wars release as well as sequels The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
It's plain to see that this new Atari Star Wars cabinet has one very unique feature: A starship-esque cockpit design complete with an X-Wing pilot controller and all manner of assorted levers and buttons. Fans will also note that this is "the only at-home arcade cabinet that uses the original arcade software," according to a press release, making it a rarity even among the company's other hardware.
The Atari Star Wars arcade cabinet from Arcade1Up was lightly teased in Shacknews' previous E3 interview featured above. Of course, Star Wars isn't the only game franchise to be featured in the company's budget-friendly cabinets, as Arcade1Up was also showcasing the Marvel Super Heroes and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cabinets on the E3 2019 showroom floor. Game fans and arcade enthusiasts can learn much more about those two offerings in the video interview featured above.
Be sure to keep it locked right here at Shacknews for continued coverage of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. Fans who are already pumped about all of the newest games and reveals can find all the launch dates they need over at our 2019 video game release date schedule.
