Gamers who were reared back in the arcade heyday are likely well aware of the arcade game cabinets from the folks at Arcade1Up. Designed as a way for players to bring the arcade home, these game cabinets are built to the same design principles of the cabinets of old, but they're small enough — and more importantly, affordable enough — for players to put them right into their homes.
Shacknews was recently able to chat with Aaron Wade, head of public relations at Arcade1Up, to learn more about the company's latest products. In particular, Arcade1Up has two new cabinets it was showing off at E3 2019: One based around classic Marvel games, and the other based around the fan-favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Learn all about them in the video embed featured below.
For arcade fans, it's virtually impossible to choose between these two cabinets. The Marvel Super Heroes cabinet includes Marvel Super Heroes (of course), X-Men Children of the Atom, and The Punisher, all juicy arcade classics. On the other hand, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cabinet includes the namesake 1989 release as well as Turtles in Time, one of the hottest multiplayer arcade games of its era.
Surprise! Arcade1Up also revealed a new Star Wars arcade cabinet at E3 2019.
These two machines were introduced first at E3 2019, and as such, they don't have firm release dates yet. However, the underlying tech is all there, and there shouldn't too much of a delay before these two new Marvel and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade1Up cabinets release into the wild. The Marvel variant is slated to cost $299, while the TMNT cabinet will cost #349 at launch.
