Die-hard JRPG fans are likely aware that the classic Mana series games were recently released in Japan through the Seiken Densetsu Collection. However, Square Enix hasn't previous stated any intention to offer the new collection in other global territories. That has thankfully changed, as Nintendo has revealed in its E3 2019 live stream that the Seiken Densetsu series is coming to the West as Collection of Mana.
For fans of the JRPG genre, the Mana series is hard to beat. Tracing its roots back to Final Fantasy Adventure on the original Game Boy, the Seiken Densetsu series — better known to American audiences as the Mana series — has charmed players with action RPG styling for decades.
Many an SNES gamer found themselves lost in the world of Secret of Mana, and as it stands now — especially considering the unfortunate turnout of Square Enix's Secret of Mana remake — the SNES original is still the preferred way to play the game. However, players will soon be able to enjoy that exact release anywhere they like on the Nintendo Switch.
Collection of Mana offers the chance to catch up on the first three games in the Mana series: Adventures of Mana (the remake of Final Fantasy Adventure, which itself is credited as the original Seiken Densetsu), Secret of Mana, and Seiken Densetsu 3, which also debuted on the SNES but has never before been released outside of Japan. Best of all, it's available starting today.
