If you love Rainbow Six, then you’re going to be stoked about Ubisoft’s latest announcement. We’d already seen some leaks earlier in the week, but it looks like Rainbow Six Quarantine is officially the next game in the series.
Revealed during the Ubisoft E3 2019 conference, Rainbow Six Quarantine will feature three-player cooperative tactical combat that aims to deliver the same intensity of Rainbow Six Siege in a PVE environment when it releases in early 2020.
According to Bio Jade, Lead Game Designer on Rainbow Six Quarantine, players will be able to team up with two of their friends and take part in cooperative missions based around tactical gameplay. The entire game is built for co-op gameplay, and the game pulls a lot from Rainbow Six Siege, which has seen immense success for Ubisoft since it’s original release in December of 2015.
Jade wasn’t ready to talk about what the creatures are, or even what’s happening in the teaser trailer that they revealed at the Ubisoft E3 2019 conference. We did, however, learn that the game will include Operators from Rainbow Six Siege, as they bring a lot to the battlefield thanks to their depth and story.
Part of what has made Siege so long-lasting for Ubisoft is their continued development of new Operators, maps, and even their esports support for the Rainbow Six Siege Pro League. It will be interesting to see how Ubisoft supports a spin-off of the series with Rainbow Six Quarantine, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on it throughout the coming months.
