Microsoft showed off Gears of War 5 during is E3 2019 press event in Los Angeles today. Along with a smoke-filled lightshow and elaborate stage decorations, the console giant confirmed a September 10 release date as well as Xbox Game Pass availability. Ultimate Edition buyers can play the game four days early. The Coalition, the development team responsible for Gears of War 4, will be heading up development on Gears 5.
The game also got a brand new trailer featuring lots of monster killing action and a sprinkling of Trick Daddy and Lil’ John’s early-2000s classic Let’s Go. The clip also introduces the new Escape game mode. After the trailer debuted, the development team confirmed that visitor to Microsoft stores can play the game as early as this week. Those who pre-order the game also get access to a Terminator-themed character pack for multiplayer.
