Annapurna Interactive reveals 12 Minutes at Xbox E3 2019

Published , by Kevin Tucker

New game reveals are rolling in steadily through Microsoft's Xbox E3 2019 briefing, and one of those reveals is aimed squarely at fans of mind-bending experiences with striking storylines. It's called 12 Minutes, and it's the latest project from Luis Antonio and the folks over at publisher Annapurna Interactive.

In a nutshell, 12 minutes is a game about a man trapped in time. The game plays out from an overhead perspective, and players have to guide the protagonist out of the time loop he's stuck in, which happens to be set at a 12-minute interval. Starting to come together now, isn't it? Unfortunately for the hero, the point in time he's found himself reliving doesn't seem to be particularly pleasant, with a stranger busting down his door during a heated argument with what appears to be a significant other.

Annapurna Interactive has quickly established a name for itself as a publisher for unique and creative games, and 12 Minutes certainly seems to fit that mold. The game comes straight from the mind of Luis Antonio, whom fans may recognize for his artwork in The Witness. It has a distinctly narrative-driven approach, and based on the action and dialog featured in the trailer, the game will likely deal with some very heavy themes.
