It's been a long wait for Ori and the Will of the Wisps, the latest release from the crew at Moon Studios. Fortunately, we know now when the wait will end, as the release date for Ori and the Will of the Wisps has been revealed at Microsoft's E3 2019 Xbox presentation.
As one of the most beloved Metroidvania releases of the past few years, the original Ori and the Blind Forest became something of a sensation. With lush, gorgeous artwork and peerless platforming, Moon Studio's release quickly became one of the most talked-about Microsoft exclusives of 2015. The game would go on to receive several awards, including an award for Best Art Direction at The Game Awards 2015 as well as one for Artistic Achievement from the 2016 BAFTA Game Awards.
Of course, it's been over four years since that original game landed on the Xbox One and Windows PCs. In all that time, Moon Studios has been hard at work on Will of the Wisps, with the game first being announced at Microsoft's E3 2017 Xbox briefing.
Alongside a new trailer for the game, which naturally showcased all of the beautiful art and Metroidvania-inspired action fans have come to expect, the newest release was finally given a release date. Expect Ori and the Will of the Wisps to release on February 11, 2020.
