Not long ago, Larian Studios began to tease a new game for fans of their RPG games via a moving image shared on their website. Fans quickly began to dive deep into the information on the website and quickly learned that the game that the studio was working on was actually Baldur’s Gate 3. Today, Larian Studios officially revealed Baldur’s Gate 3 and news that the game is coming to Google Stadia when it releases.
Larian Studios didn't really reveal much about the upcoming sequel to the Baldur's Gate series, however we did get a glimpse of a soldier as he stumbled through a series of battle-torn streets. Eventually, he began to choke up what appeared to be blood, or some other vicous liquid, before several tentacles began to appear from his mouth, transforming the soldier into what appeared to be a Cthulu-inspired creature of some kind.
I’m personally very excited for a change to dive back into the world of Baldur’s Gate, and Larian Studios has done a really good job of creating thriving and immersive worlds with their Divinity: Original Sin series. It will be very intriguing to see how Larian tackles a series as well established as Baldur’s Gate, and it’s definitely not an easy pair of shoes to fill. No release date was revealed just yet, though we expect we’ll see more of the game as we head into E3 2019 at the start of this next week.
We're still waiting to learn more details about the upcoming Baldur's Gate sequel, but we'll be sure to keep an eye out for any additional information that Larian Studios might release down the line. It's cool to see the title coming out with such a focus on supporting Google Stadia. Hopefully this inclusion on Stadia will expand the number of users able to dive in and experience one of the best old-school RPG series around when Baldur's Gate 3 releases.
