With E3 2019 less than a week away, it’s time to start planning for the new announcements and content we’ll see from big publishers and companies. Today we want to take a look at Nintendo and go over what we feel fans can expect from Nintendo at E3 2019. Without wasting anymore time, let’s dive right in!
We already know that Nintendo has some pretty big plans for E3 2019. In fact, they detailed pretty much all of their coverage on their website a few weeks back. But with so many great games in the works like Metroid Prime 4, Animal Crossing on Switch, and even the new Pokemon Sword and Shield games, what exactly can we expect to see?
We expect that Animal Crossing will be the biggest focus for Nintendo this year at E3. We’ve already learned a ton about Pokemon Sword and Shield thanks to a Nintendo Direct that took place earlier today. This netted us more info about the upcoming Pokemon games for Nintendo Switch, and even landed us with a November release date.
Of course, we’re still very much in the dark about Animal Crossing, so we expect it to be the major focus for Nintendo’s E3 content. We also might see some kind of teaser for a new Zelda game, though we wouldn’t suggest holding your breath, as Breath of the Wild isn’t even three years old yet. If we had to guess, we’d wager there is a very good chance that their Nintendo Direct scheduled for June 11 will reveal more info about the upcoming Animal Crossing game, and maybe even score us a release date, if we’re lucky.
Of course, Nintendo will also be showing off different content throughout June 11 and June 13, which means we’re bound to see some new games pop up for the 3DS family. We also know that we’ll get to tune into the Super Mario Maker 2 Invitational 2019, as well as the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 3v3, and the Splatoon 2 World Championship 2019.
While we’d love to see more of Metroid Prime 4, based on the recent updates, we doubt we’ll see much if any about the upcoming continuation of Samus’ story. Still, we can always hold out hope that Nintendo surprises us with some bright news about the fourth game in the Metroid Prime series.
We will continue to keep an eye out and update this article with any possible new expectations that might arise. For now, though, that’s what fans can expect from Nintendo at E3 2019.
