I really enjoy a good dungeon crawler. Path of Exile and Diablo 3 pretty much lead the charge when it come to the genre in 2019. Entering the ring comes Warhammer: Chaosbane. Can this game hold up against the others? Let trade our gear, set our skill points, and find out in our full video review below.
Warhammer: Chaosbane takes place in the old world of Warhammer. The current Warhammer universe is called Age of Sigmar. The chaos gods end up successfully killing off and destroying the Warhammer universe as we know it. Chaosbane takes place before the end times happen, during one of the first major chaos invasions. You can play through the destruction in Fatshark's Vermintide 1 and 2.
In Chaosbane, you play as one of four major classes: soldier, mage, slayer, and ranger, each with their own unique motivations when it comes to slaying the Chaos hordes. The core of the game's story takes place right after you stop a Chaos invasion, but a dark demon sorceress invades your stronghold and puts your leader Magnus in a deep magic coma. Naturally, you end up setting off on a quest to find who's responsible and save Magnus yourself.
Warhammer: Chaosbane tries to do new and unique things to the dungeon crawler genre. To simply call it a "Diablo clone" would be insulting. The team deserves a standing ovation for their attention to detail.
Warhammer: Chaosbane is an absolute treat for fans of the Warhammer universe. If you like dungeon crawlers or Warhammer in general, you should definitely pick this up – especially if you don't have a phone. Be sure to check out the full review above for an exciting look at Warhammer: Chaosbane, which should absolutely be on your radar when it comes to Game of the Year considerations later in 2019.
