Destiny 2’s Season of Opulence is officially one week away, and today Bungie dropped a new trailer that shows off a brand new six-player matchmade activity called Menagerie. This new season will also include a new raid called the Crown of Sorrow that takes players back to the Leviathan. Bungie also updated the Season of Opulence roadmap and listed new exotic gear headed to the game.
Guardians have been digging for information on the new six-player activity coming to Destiny 2, and today it was revealed that activity would be called Menagerie. Details are still scarce, but we do know that the matchmaking availability will be restricted to the normal mode, not the heroic mode that arrives on June 25. We also found out that Menagerie will roll out new bosses for the first couple weeks of the activity. Menagerie will launch on June 4th at the same time Season of Opulence kicks off.
A new raid will also be introduced on June 4th. Called Crown of Sorry, this appears to be taking players back to the Leviathan, although it looks a little run down from what Guardians might recall. Still, it will be good to chat with Calus again.
Season of Opulence will feature two new exotic quests, one for Truth, an exotic returning from the original Destiny, and one for Lumina, what appears to be a new Hand Cannon. It’ll be interesting to hear what the community thinks about the Hand Cannon given that there are some vocal portions of the fanbase that feel the exotic Hand Cannon market in Destiny 2 is a bit saturated.
Finally, the Solstice of Heroes will be returning. This will undoubtedly introduce new armor and weapons for Guardians to chase. Details were few on this one, but I’d imagine it looks a lot like the Solstice of Heroes from a year ago.
