Call of Duty: Modern Warfare rumored to be new Call of Duty

Published , by Josh Hawkins

Not much is known about this year’s Call of Duty aside from the fact that it’s coming at some point this year. Now, though, more news has hit the wires, as leaks have suggested that the upcoming COD title will be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfrare. The info was leaked on Twitter and has been backed up by at least one well-established industry source.

We’re still waiting for any kind of official news break about the title, as well as information on what the game might even be about. For now, though, all we have are the leaks made on Twitter by user LongSensationYT. Kotaku Editor Jason Schreier also weighed in on the conversation, stating that the title is indeed legit in a tweet, which does add some weight to the rumor.

This year’s Call of Duty is being developed by Infinity Ward, with next year’s title to be made by Treyarch following some changes at Activision which pushed Sledgehammer Games out of the lineup for the time being. While Activision hasn’t revealed any official information, they did show off the game to several football players last month in a private meeting.

Several football players play the new Call of Duty at a special event last month.

We still have a little bit to go before we see any kind of official reveal for the new Call of Duty. However, Eurogamer reports that we’ll see an official world reveal for the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at the end of the month, on May 30. Again, we don’t have any official information backing this up, but the editorial site seems to have quite a bit of confidence in their sources.

We’ll continue to keep a watch out for any official information about the upcoming Call of Duty title. Make sure you stay tuned to our Call of Duty hub for all the latest news and info about the upcoming title.
