Borderlands 3 is shaping up to be the biggest release in the series' history. As such, players are wondering how long it might take to beat it. Considering that PvE cooperative play is at the heart of the Borderlands experience, players will be able to dive into the main campaign alone or with their friends. And while players are absolutely encouraged to stop and smell the roses from time to time, others need to know how many hours it will take to beat Borderlands 3 if they go in guns blazing. We're here to help.
The Borderlands 3 main quest campaign should take around 30 hours to beat. This figure comes by way of a PC Gamer report based around statements made by Gearbox creative director Paul Sage at the recent Borderlands 3 gameplay reveal event. Specifically, Sage stated that it "might" take 30 hours to complete the campaign if players are making a deliberate effort to rush through the experience.
"If you beeline it through, and I mean *beelining* it through, it might take you 30 hours to complete the main story," Sage said.
Of course, a beeline doesn't technically imply haste. Instead, it refers to a direct path from one point to another. As such, we can infer that the Borderlands 3 campaign will be around 30 hours for those who don't stop to complete additional quests and make no attempt to seek out any of the game's potential secrets.
Thankfully, the 30-hour figure is about on par with past Borderland releases. After all, despite the game's new mechanics like Loot Instancing, it's good to know that the general campaign length is no shorter than previous games in the series.
If no effort is made to stop and smell the roses, it should only take players 30 hours to beat Borderlands 3. If time is of no concern, the sky is the limit, and the game's huge amount of weapons to track down should keep looter-shooter fans happy for the foreseeable future.
