We've all been patiently waiting for Nintendo to finally debut Persona 5 on Switch since Joker joined Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and for a while we thought it would happen with the "Persona 5 S" game we kept hearing about.
Now, after we've seen the official unveiling of Persona 5 Royal, we know that isn't the case. Atlus revealed Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, a musou action RPG that's indeed coming to the Nintendo Switch (and PlayStation 4) but it isn't a port of the popular original entry in the MegaTen series.
Instead, it's a game developed by Dynasty Warriors developer Omega Force and will offer Persona 5 characters the chance to beat up on seemingly endless hordes of enemies using a large variety of moves. But this isn't the game people were anticipating. Still, who's to pass up on a musou Persona game?
Unlike yesterday's announcement of Persona 5 Royal, however, which is releasing in 2020 for Western gamers, there was no announcement of one for Persona 5 Scramble. Hopefully this means we'll hear something soon as far as when we can expect the title, and it doesn't mean there aren't any plans to bring it Stateside, which would just be stupid given how massively popular Persona 5 is.
And for those of you still waiting for a Persona 5 Switch port proper, don't give up hope. Perhaps it's still in the works. Many of us dream of being able to take the game with us on the go or play while in bed, but just because there hasn't been an announcement, that doesn't mean it's not happening. We'll be sure to keep you updated on all the news that comes out of these new Persona 5 games.
