The Overwatch League's second season is into its second stage of competition. All of last year's teams are back, along with new expansion teams. And while things look to have changed at the start of the league's sophomore outing, things appear to have changed even more with the start of Stage 2. And while competition is going to continue as normal, the Overwatch League is prepped for a change of scenery this weekend.
This will be the first time that the Overwatch League is leaving the Blizzard Arena during the regular season. The venue for this weekend will be the Allen Event Center in Allen, TX, the future home of the Dallas Fuel. The stage is set for two days of intense action.
Now that the Overwatch League is back and fully underway, Shacknews is here to help fans, be they old, new, or curious, keep up with the state of the league all season long.
Let's take a look at the Stage 2 and overall standings heading into Stage 2, Week 4.
Saturday, April 27
Sunday, April 28
Only a handful of teams are making the trip to Dallas this weekend. Among them is a resurgent London Spitfire, one of four teams who are unbeaten in Stage 2 thus far. To keep their streak going, they'll face off against a team just on the outside looking in for the Stage 2 Playoffs.
The Paris Eternal are looking to rebound from a rough start behind new head coach Felix "Fefe" Munch. They're coming off a rough loss to the Dallas Fuel, though they did see some flashes of brilliance from the DPS tandem of Terrence "SoOn" Tarlier and George "ShaDowBurn" Gushcha. The Eternal's success largely hinges on expert tank player Finnbjorn "Finnsi" Jonasson, who has had some great games with D.Va and Zarya. But it's going to take a lot to overcome Junyoung "Profit" Park, who's had an incredible Stage 2 so far. If Junho "Fury" Kim and Seungtae "Bdosin" Choi continue playing at the top of their game, it's hard to see the Spitfire dropping this one, but the Eternal will certainly give it a shot, with the 8th seed in their sights.
This matchup kicks off the weekend in Dallas, so tune in this Saturday.
