Can't wait to build your own Super Mario levels on Nintendo Switch? Good news: You can get started doing so as early as this summer.
Super Mario Maker 2 is launching as a Nintendo Switch exclusive on June 28, which means you'll be able to take the game with you all summer on vacation, or while lazing away in the sun.
The sequel to one of the coolest entries in the Mario universe is hurtling toward us, and we can't wait to get our hands on it. The sequel to the original game, which first appeared on the Wii U, lets you make your own Super Mario courses with a variety of new tools, items, and other features. There's a wide selection of things you can use to build your own levels, including the ability to make slopes for the first time as well.
There will be specific Mario games to theme your custom levels on as well, like Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros. U, and Super Mario 3D World. There are also different elements that weren't previously available in the first game around to play with, including new enemies, items, and modifiable auto-scroll direction. If you dreamt it up before and couldn't put it together, it seems like now you'll basically be able to make the Mario levels of your dreams.
Originally, Super Mario Maker 2 debuted during a Nintendo Direct online presentation in February 2019. Now we'll be able to get our hands on it far sooner than we thought. It'll likely be available to try out at E3 2019, so if you're planning on going, you may be able to give it a try before most of the rest of the gaming community.
