The build for Mortal Kombat 11 has unfolded over the past several months, with Warner Bros. and NetherRealm releasing multiple character trailers and story details. The videos all have one thing in common. They prompt prospective players to pre-order for access to Shao Kahn. To this point, there hasn't been any actual footage of the former Outworld emperor. That all changed on Wednesday with the arrival of a new trailer.
As one would imagine, many of Shao Kahn's classic moves are back. Many of those moves utilize his killer hammer, which can be implemented in numerous combos. Kahn also takes advantage of a trusty pike, which he uses for command grabs to help string further combos together. And of course, it wouldn't be Shao Kahn unless he taunted you mercilessly. He brings back his signature laugh and will tell you, the player, that you do, in fact, suck. Variations weren't available in this short trailer, but expect the NetherRealm team to go a little more in-depth on those during the final pre-release Kombat Kast, which is set to air this Monday at 1PM PT on Twitch and YouTube.
Shao Kahn's Fatality is one befitting the Outworld tyrant. He doubles over his opponent before taking a mighty swing of his hammer. He'll bash his opponent over the head so hard, it'll come flying out their wazoo.
As one might imagine, this is one last hard sell to get people to pre-order Mortal Kombat 11. Anyone who does will get Shao Kahn at launch. There are no details on how those who don't pre-order will be able to unlock this character, but expect it to cost some money. The time is almost here. Mortal Kombat 11 is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintnedo Switch this Tuesday, April 23.
