We've been fed a steady drip of new Detective Pikachu footage over the last few weeks, and the latest video is even cooler. The new trailer, which is like a casting video, shows us plenty of the new Pokemon we'll be able to see in the movie when it finally lands.
Detective Pikachu himself, Ryan Reynolds, is back with a look at the Pokemon we know and love, like Jigglypuff, Charizard, Squirtle, and Eevee with a terrible haircut. There's also a glimpse at some new faces: Liepard, Torterra, Rufflet, and Sneasel, which we weren't previously in the know about. Look, we're getting updates!
The hilarious new video below serves up the same kind of wit we saw in the debut trailer in droves, only this time we get a better look at the CG Pokemon we've been trying to get a glimpse of since the movie trailers began running. If you haven't kept up, the movie is the first-ever live action Pokemon movie, and it will follow 21-year-old Tim Goodman, who's trying to figure out the whereabouts of his father Harry Goodman. Based on the Nintendo 3DS game of the same name, it stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular electric mouse detective and a swath of CG Pokemon to round things out. We've seen monsters like Charizard, Mr. Mime, Psyduck, Jigglypuff, and more, for starters, and now we're seeing that world of monsters expanding considerably.
As if this cool new trailer weren't enough, theatergoers will get a special exclusive Detective Pikachu trading card for their trouble. That's an exciting reason to go snag a seat, even if you're not as interested in the actual movie and want to collect the cards.
Ready to see more? Sorry, the movie's still not out yet, but you don't have a lot longer to wait, promise. Detective Pikachu is bringing its electric blend of humor and Pokemon to a theater near you on May 10. That's about a month away, so you've still got plenty of time to start and finish the original Nintendo 3DS game, too! Just make sure you know your Pokemon before you head into the theater.
