Blizzard is bringing a Public Test Realm (PTR) to StarCraft Remastered, so you can test all the game's new features to your heart's desire.
A new Developer Update clip where lead engineer Grant Davies discusses all the changes coming to StarCraft Remastered surfaced recently. Davies explains that the PTR will let players check out new features before they're live in the game, so that way everyone has a chance to try them and provide feedback.
The team will be prioritizing and addressing a wide variety of issues thanks to a feedback thread on the official Blizzard forums. Later this year, 64-bit will be available for Mac users, and for PC users as well – that's a big change to look out for.
Matchmaking improvements are coming as well, in addition to a change in the forums Blizzard uses currently to chat with fans. The community forums will be moving to the same forums other Blizzard games use for better tracking and easier interfacing with players. You can check out all the updates coming to StarCraft: Remastered in the video below.
StarCraft: Remastered is a remastered version of the classic Blizzard RTS as well as its Brood War expansion. It originally debuted in 2017 and features HD graphics, re-recorded audio, and online multiplayer support. Blizzard has been supporting the game post-launch and plans to continue doing so for the foreseeable future, hence the fifth developer update video above.
If you're a StarCraft fan, you'll absolutely want to check out the remastered version, especially if you're looking for a slick, polished way to experience it.
