Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is officially on its way, and we can't wait to sink our fangs into it.
Shacknews was on hand during GDC 2019 to chat with the developers themselves (Paradox Interactive) about Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2, and it sounds like an absolute doozy, which will find narrative designer Brian Mitsoda returning to work on the project after taking part in the World of Darkness IP years prior.
The original Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines debuted back in 2004, so it's been 15 years since we've heard hide or hair of the franchise. Now that it's making its storied return, we can expect to see a brand new vision of the world built in the original game as it makes its way to systems in 2020.
The game will feature various tidbits from the World of Darkness, as well as quests about how being a vampire can change from person to person. The game is set to explore various different themes, including mature topics like mental illness. It's truly a vampire adventure for individuals looking for something a bit deeper than "bite someone and suck their blood." If you ever enjoyed Vampyr, or the first game of course, you'll absolutely love the sequel, it sounds like.
Shacknews chatted with the devs, who revealed a bit of the story behind how the game came together, including plans for the future and where they are in the development process. Be sure to check out the full interview above to get the full story. We'll have to reserve judgment on what we think about the game until it's actually available for us to try, but it certainly seems like it's going to be an exciting adventure for anyone who loves Vampire: The Masquerade or gothic narratives in general.
