I generally dont mention mods too often but the BW-Admin patch for Quake2 is quite worth checking out if you run Quake2 servers. It can be paired up with any other mod that you run on your server and add several functions like Z-Bot protection, rate and cl_maxfps caps, and all that other pertinent stuff.
