Destiny 2: Season of the Drifter is now in full swing. The first update, Joker’s Wild, brings a lot of new items and game modes to the table. If you want to make the most of this season, you’re going to need to understand what these new items are and how to use them. The Invader Synth is just one of the new consumables you can get your hands on. In this guide we’ll go over what the Invader Synth is, how you use it, and even talk about where you can get more of them in Destiny 2.
If you’ve tried out the two new modes in Joker’s Wild, then chances are you’ve come across the Invader Synth or one of the other three synths available now. This special item can be used along with the Weak Synthesizer to create a special mote that you can use to activate the portal in The Reckoning. If you want to take part in The Reckoning and unlock all the new Gambit Prime armor, then you’re going to need to know what you’re doing.
The Invader Synth is just one of four synths available with the new update. When used to create motes, these items will allow you to complete The Reckoning and unlock special gear with unique perks and abilities tied directly to The Drifter’s baby, Gambit. As stated above, you’ll need to use the Invader Synth with the Weak Synthesizer to create a Weak Invader Mote. This item can then be used in the bank in The Reckoning’s opening area to spawn a portal and kick off the event.
Alternatively, you can also use the Invader Synth directly from your inventory. This will grant you a 30 minute buff that grants you +3 to the Invader armor set bonus, allowing you access to more perks with less armor pieces.
As with the Sentry Synth, there are quite a few ways to get your hands on more Invader Synths. First, you can complete the daily Gambit Prime bounties that you acquire from The Drifter. Each one of these bounties will reward you with a specific synth type, so look for the one that grants you an Invader Synth if you’re trying to unlock this full set of Gambit Prime armor.
You can also acquire Invader Synths as a random drop while playing Gambit Prime and The Reckoning. In order to receive synths as a reward for The Reckoning, make sure you aren’t the person starting the activity with a mote. If you then help that person complete the event, you will be given a random synth for your trouble.
You’ll need to equip yourself with several Invader Synths if you want to unlock the full set of Invader Gambit Prime armor. Remember to head over to our Destiny 2 complete strategy guide if you need more help with Joker’s Wild.
