Fortnite Season 8 is just around the corner and fans everywhere are trying to figure out exactly when the new update will drop. If you’re among the masses trying to sort when Fortnite Season 8 will start, then we’ve got the answers that you’re looking for.
Season 8 of Fortnite will kick off sometime tomorrow after the game goes down for maintenance around 4 AM ET. The developers sent out a Tweet not too long ago reporting the downtime for maintenance.
Normally these maintenance periods can run anywhere from one hour up to a few hours at the most. Epic hasn’t announced any expected return time for the servers, but they did mention that this patch is larger than most normal updates, so we’d wager that fans can expect a much longer downtime. Right now players can most likely expect Fortnite Season 8 to start sometime around 7 or 8 AM EST, tomorrow February 28.
We’ll be sure to update this article as we learn more about the expected downtime, though for now we’d suggest setting aside at least 2-3 hours for the developers to sort the update. If this changes, then we’ll let you know. If you haven’t paid attention to all the Fortnite season 8 teasers, then now is a great time to check those out. The new season looks to also include some pretty big updates for Fortnite on mobile, so make sure you check those out as well if you play on your smartphone or tablet.
