Niantic tends to keep fresh events ready for Pokemon Go players, and this weekend's Limited Research Event is no exception. In addition to the usual bonuses to items like Catch Stardust, this weekend's limited-time event gives players their first chance to catch a Clamperl and add the creature to their Pokedex. According to the official Pokemon Go blog, the latest Limited Research Event gives players a three-hour window to face, defeat, and hopefully capture a Clamperl. To get a shot, they'll need to complete the game's special Field Research tasks during the limited time frame. Assuming they do, they'll encounter Clamperl, and will stand a chance of adding the new creature to their Pokedex.
There's more to the latest Limited Research Event than the fresh arrival of Clamperl. During the event, players will receive two times the Catch Stardust for all Water-type Pokemon, and Water types will appear more frequently out in the wild during the three-hour window. All of the Limited Research tasks will be made available when spinning Photo Discs at nearby PokeStops.
