The critically-acclaimed Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is coming to Nintendo Switch, in all its creepy glory.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, originally created as a collaboration with neuroscientists and individuals living with psychosis, it's a journey that follows a young Celtic warrior named Senua who embarks on a quest to bring back the soul of her dead lover. The action-packed game is filled with dark visions and unsettling atmospheres and you must help Senua combat her demons through various encounters, even though it may seem quite difficult at first.
Senua's personal journey involves heading into the depths of Helheim, and excavating the underworld itself to see if there's any way to bring her deceased beloved back to life. It's pretty trippy, to say the least, and makes copious usage of binaural audio to simulate the voices in Senua's head.
The game is one of Ninja Theory's most well-known titles now, as it's been in the public eye ever since it debuted and praised for its depiction of mental illness and how it feels to suffer from the same kinds of issues as Senua.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice originally debuted on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2017, then later released on Xbox One in April 2018. After that, it received a virtual reality remake in summer 2018, which upped its creepiness quotient considerably. It's currently available via the Xbox Game Pass subscription program, and is still available on all the above platforms if you can't wait for the Switch version to debut.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is set to debut this spring on the Switch. It's unclear if it will be ported with any additional content or scenarios, so at this time it's safe to say it will be a vanilla port of the game that's available on the other platforms at present. A note to the wise, though: If you're squeamish, you may want to skip this one.
