Magnetic Ram
Jason Haggenjos let us know about this new memory by IBM. It uses magnetic rather than electrical power to store data. According to IBM, they have been working on MRAM since 1974 but only now are the memory chips getting small enough for it be cost-effective. The magnetic part means it can keep the info while the PC isn't on, and it should be faster.
