Sim-strategy fans who have been waiting anxiously to get their hands on Ubisoft and Blue Byte’s upcoming Anno 1800 will not have to wait much longer. This morning, Ubisoft revealed that the Anno 1800 Open Beta will take place from April 12 to April 14 on PC through the uPlay launcher.
Series fans have been anticipating Blue Byte’s latest entry since it was announced back at E3 2017. After some futuristic outings in the form of Anno 2070 and Anno 2205, the supply chain management sim will be returning to its roots with a historical setting. The Anno games last visited this territory with the fan-favorite Anno 1404 back in 2009. The game will put players in charge of growing and expanding settlements on islands of various sizes through the use of agriculture, mining, and naval trade. Anno 1800 also made an appearance on my Most Anticipated Games of 2018 list prior to having its release pushed back into 2019.
The game was originally expected to launch in February, but had its official launch day pushed back to April 16, 2019 to give the development team extra time for polish and optimization. Anno 1800 has also been running closed beta tests as recently as this week for select players.
A set of minimum and recommended system requirements for the game are also available now. The game is relatively light on hardware requirements compared to recent AAA games, which should be a welcome sight for those without the latest and greatest PCs. The full requirements are as listed below:
