Dell’s Alienware line has been making products for PC gamers for quite a long time now. This year at CES 2019 the company announced its latest and greatest in PC gaming monitors. While we were there, our team was lucky enough to get a look at the prototype for Alienware’s newest OLED monitor. It would appear that the Alienware 55 OLED monitor is looking to offer up a next-gen visual experience for the tech-savvy gamer.
Some of the Alienware 55 OLED prototype monitor features include true black infinite contrast ratio and a 120hz variable refresh rate. The monitor can also run 120 frames-per-second in 4K resolution thanks to its DP1.4 input. Physically, is has most of the features you’d expect to find on a standard monitor, like swiveling and height adjustment. In order to add a little class and style, its contours have been designed with some inspiration from the spoilers on luxury sports cars. There’s also color-adjustable LED lights built into the back of the monitor that can sync up with games that support in-game effects for a more immersive gaming experience or just function as ambient lighting.
You can check out everything the Alienware 55 OLED prototype monitor has to offer in our latest video interview from the CES 2019 show floor:
As of right now, the Alienware 55 OLED monitor is just in its prototype phase and has no launch date or price point. However, Dell does plan on releasing the model sometime later this year.
