Bandai Namco has 50 years of content to dig through when it comes to content that can be featured in Jump Force and the latest reveal shows the company isn't afraid to dig really deep into the crates. The massive manga crossover event now welcomes Dai of the long-running Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai manga series.
While Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai may not be exceptionally popular in the US, it is one of the all-time best selling Shonen Jump series ever. The manga follows lead character Dai and his conflict with the Demon King Hadlar as he attempts to avenge the death of his teacher and become the hero he's always dreamed of being.
In addition to revealing the addition of Dai to the game's roster, Bandai Namco released a new Jump Force story trailer. This new video focuses on the Umbras Cubes, which are mysterious items that are being used to transform humans into mindless creatures called Venoms. These cubes, the evil beings using them, and the colliding worlds of the many characters in the game all tie in together somehow, but we'll have to wait to see how.
Thus far, Jump Force has welcome characters from Bleach, Naruto, My Hero Academia, Death Note, Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball Z, Rurouni Kenshin, and more. There's a strong chance that there are still some more faces to be revealed for the game and it wouldn't be surprising to see another wave of characters added as DLC in the future. New characters could be from one of the many manga series not already tapped for Jump Force content or from the already revealed franchises. The opportunities are nearly endless.
Jump Force is an exciting celebration of the 50-year anniversay of Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump publication and launches February 12, 2019, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
