Bigger battle royales are better battle royales. It's hard to say aloud, but it's a truth we feel in our hearts. That's why developer Hi-Rez Studios is aiming to put Realm Royale into the hands and machines of even more players. The crew has just announced that in addition to the game's previous Steam availability on PC, Realm Royale is now available as a free download through the Discord Store.
As it happens, this news comes just two days after Realm Royale went into open beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 22. We've been expecting Realm Royale to land on consoles for months now, but it's only ever been accessible through a closed beta until just recently.
Thanks to the console open beta and now Discord Store support, players should be able to access Realm Royale with almost any gaming system. Of course, for now, it appears that Realm Royale is not coming to the Nintendo Switch, though fans of Hi-Rez Studios' work can still find Paladins in the Nintendo Switch eShop.
Battle royale fans and Discord users can follow this link to download Realm Royale for free through the Discord Store. The game has mid-range system requirements, asking for a four-core processor around 3.0GHz, 6 GB RAM, and a GeForce GTX 555 or later. It's also a 5 GB install, which shouldn't take too much time to pull down over modern broadband connections.
Beyond the addition of Realm Royale, the Discord Store has continued to expand since opening in October of 2018. Some of the latest additions include a handful of Adult Swim games like Battle Chef Brigade Deluxe and Kingsway, which have been made available free of charge as part of the Discord Nitro subscription service.
