Ubisoft has released a new trailer (Agent Briefing, if you will) that breaks down the full PvP experiences you'll be able to take part in when you jump into The Division 2 this March.
The Dark Zone is returning, with three different versions. Players will hunt down enemy factions in each one in The Division 2, while traipsing around the wide radius of Washington, DC. However, there are ways players can simply go rogue and turn on their teammates if they choose to, all in the name of hovering up some loot. Is loyalty more important than the almighty dollar and the other goodies up for grabs in-game?
Going rogue will happen if you break into chests, steal Dark Zone drops, or do other nefarious things of that nature. Of course, this will reveal to your teammates that you've done such a thing. You can also take out other players to become a "Disavowed Rogue" which means you're in even deeper water. From there, you can continue eliminating teammates, which will eventually make you a "Manhunt Rogue." When you get to this stage, you're well and truly a wanted agent, so watch out when you decide to make the decision to go that route.
When you scoop up all the loot from your bad decisions, it won't be clean. You'll have to go to a special location to get an extraction helicopter to remove your loot. That puts you right in the crosshairs of former teammates while you struggle to stay alive. But if you happen to make it out of there, you've just funneled all that loot with you, too. You can alternatively clear your rogue status or continue being a bad guy until you unlock the Thieves' Den for some special equipment. If you get there, you'll clear your Rogue status too, and can play normally. It's a little bit like painting your car in GTA.
There's also a PvP mode called Conflict where players can match up against each other in Skirmish and Domination modes. It's a decent option if you feel like taking on enemies but don't want to worry about the rogue gameplay mechanics and whatnot.
Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is set to debut on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on March 15, 2019.
