As PC gamers’ taste in cases, peripherals, and other hardware have shifted over the last few years, it no surprise that they would want the same sort of styling and sensibility from their desktop speakers. Razer intends to serve this market with their Nomma speaker series. Our own Greg Burke got the chance to go hands-on with the Razer Nommo Chroma speaker set and filmed his experience.
The Razer Nommo Chroma is a set of powered desktop speakers that use an unconventional tube design. Each tube is affixed to a small pole that extends downwards to wide, circular footers. Volume and bass boost knobs are included on one of the platforms and the Nommo Chroma speakers offer a USB input, a stereo 3.5mm input jack and a 3.5mm headphone out jack. Each of the tubes is loaded with a 3-inch driver and has a rear-facing port to increase bass impact.
Owners of other products in the Razer Chroma ecosystem will be happy to see that the Nommo Chromas have integrated RGB lighting in the footers that will sync to your other Razer peripherals. Using the Razer Synapse software suite, owners can fully customize their desktop lighting experience to go for a single color theme, or one of the many multi-colored presets.
Razer promises excellent imaging performance and deep, impactful bass despite the desk-friendly footprint. The Razer Nommo Chroma can be found at Razer’s online store or your favorite electronics retailer for $149.99.
