Monster Hunter: World adds The Witcher's Geralt in February

The Witcher's Geralt of Rivia is continuing his tour of other games like Soul Calibur 6 with a stop in Monster Hunter: World this February.

The Witcher protagonist will be joining Monster Hunter: World on Friday, February 8 for PlayStation 4 owners. Xbox One and PC players will get to see him in-game at a later date, which has yet to be disclosed. That information will come at a later date.

The event was revealed late in 2018, and will be available to fans through a special free update. Capcom has clarified that Geralt's inclusion will be much more than just a simple character model, but didn't go much further beyond that to explain. The same voice actor will be returning from other Witcher projects to voice him, so those excited for Doug Cockle's reprisal of his famous role should be delighted.

From the trailer, we get to see Geralt arriving and introducing himself in a land that's obviously very foreign to him, but that doesn't matter so much – slaying monsters is what he does, after all.

It isn't clear at this point whether Geralt's debut in the game will be a permanent one or just a special event, but just to be safe when he joins the game, you'd probably better check it all out just to be sure.

Previously, Geralt came to Soul Calibur 6 as a playable character who absolutely owns. He brings his sword-fighting skills and is a formidable opponent. At this point, fans are looking for the popular protagonist in places that aren't quite expected. He certainly brings a certain charisma to every role he fills, so more of Geralt certainly isn't a bad thing.
