Viveport’s monthly subscription service has been around for a while now, offering Viveport users a way to try five Viveport titles for one low price each and every month. Up until now you’ve been limited to those five applications each month, but now HTC is looking to spice things up by offering a massive overhaul to the service with Viveport Infinity.
Built off the foundation of the original Viveport subscription, not much is really set to change with the introduction of Viveport Infinity when it arrives this coming Vive Day, April 5, 2019. The only real notable and revealed change at this moment is that HTC will be removing the five-title limit that had previously been in place, allowing subscribers to download and play as many Viveport titles as they want to each month, given that they are available with the subscription service.
HTC believes that by offering an unlimited amount of downloads each month, more users will feel more inclined to try out some of the smaller games and experiences available on the service, something that they feel has been held back thanks to the five-title limit that has been in-place up to now. Of course, only time will tell if users take advantage of the service, but I can definitely agree that offering unlimited access is a lot more enticing to me, as a fan of virtual reality. There aren't any details yet on whether the pricing of the service will change with the overhaul, though we're sure that HTC will release more information closer to service's release last this year.
According to HTC, Viveport Infinity will be available across all current and future Vive devices—including the newly announced Vive Cosmos—as well as other devices in the Wave Eco-system like the Oculus Rift.
