Ready to hang with your favorite classic cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Wile E. Coyote?
Today, you can pick up Looney Tunes World of Mayhem as it hits iOS and Android devices as a free-to-play multiplayer RPG. It brings 70 Looney Tunes characters to the table, including favorites and lesser-known personalities so you can drop the anvil on all of your cartoon pals while working to collect them all.
You can rack up a veritable menagerie of classic characters with unique abilities that offer players plenty of ways to wage prank wars against each other throughout a variety of different game modes. In addition to regular versions of familiar characters, you can also grab their variants, such as with the iconic Valkyrie Bugs Bunny. You can also build up your own "Toon Towns" to battle with your neighbors as you work to see who can land the most laughs (incidentally, probably the most violent ones too with the anvils and all.)
"Looney Tunes is an iconic brand that has delivered over 88 years of over-the-top, animated slapstick comedy and we are thrilled to put our own spin on the franchise with Looney Tunes World of Mayhem,” said Jori Pearsall, Senior Vice President of Product and General Manager at Scopely. “The game offers a deep multiplayer RPG combat experience rooted in the timeless humor and insanity that first made Looney Tunes a globally beloved brand, aged-up for the modern fan that craves interactive authenticity.”
On December 15, some Instagram person you've never heard of, Zach King, is launching a special branded video from the ACME Anvil Lab on his page, which you can check out and make tons of gifs from via Giphy. Incidentally, you know.
This does look like a lot of fun, though, to be quite honest. It's been a long while since I played a Looney Tunes game I actually liked, possibly since Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle, the GOAT. Or it might have been Taz in Escape from Mars back on the Genesis and Game Gear.
