A new weapon fit for a king is coming to Fortnite. The new weapon is pulled from the ground in the teaser that was shared on the official Fortnite twitter account and it looks like it comes from a previous Epic Games property.
While the language may seem to point to King Arthur and Excalibur, an observant fan has pointed out that the sword shown in the Fortnite teaser looks exactly like the weapon from Epic's mobile hack and slash series Infinity Blade. The sword from the teaser certainly could be Epic using a previous Infinity Blade asset, but the character silhouette looks significantly different from Infinity Blade characters.
On top of this upcoming addition to the competitive Fortnite mode, the cooperative Save the World mode is getting a king of its own. Save the World's narrative has been working its way toward a dramatic conclusion and it's finally arriving in Fortnite update 7.0. The end of Canny Valley Act 3 features the arrival of the Storm King and the official Fortnite blog says the encounter will "put your building skills, combat readiness, and saved-up collection to the test." Here's some additional info regarding the battle with the Storm King:
Players who take down The Storm King by January 1, 2019, will get a limited-time special edition Storm King enamel pin for free. A code will be sent to those that finish him off before 11:59 PM ET on the final day and they'll have to follow the instructions to get the pin shipped to them.
Fortnite Battle Royale is available for PC, iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. Save the World is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
