This year’s annual game awards was chock full of exciting and surprising reveals from all over the world of video games. But there were a few titles that fans have been patiently waiting to hear more about that were nowhere to be seen. One of those titles was Borderlands 3, a game that basically everyone knows is in development and has been expecting to be revealed at one convention or another at some point this year, but has yet to manifest.
It seems tonight at The Game Awards was not going to be that night either. As the evening moved along we saw things like the teaser for the next installment in Dragon Age, and the Mortal Kombat 11 reveal trailer, but not a single “WUB” was to be heard from a Claptrap bot anywhere.
Are we ever going to take a trip back to Pandora or beyond for Borderlands 3? All signs would point to yes, but the exact is still a mystery to everyone. Hopefully. it won’t be too much longer because the franchise is a personal favorite of mine and I would like to see what Gearbox Software could do on a current-gen console with it.
Wherever Borderlands 3 is, it’s not at the 2018 Game Awards. But there’s always 2019 and a whole slew of events and trade shows that it could be revealed at. We’ll be sure to keep you posted if and when Borderland 3 gets announced. In the meantime, Borderlands 2 VR is just around the corner for PSVR.
