You shall not pass! Game developers and publishers clearly didn't hear Gandalf's declaration as game passes are becoming more and more common across the industry. Today, Bungie's new Destiny 2: Forsaken Annual Pass goes live and opens the doors to a new area: the Black Armory.
The Black Armory contains a handful of new experiences for Destiny 2 players, first and foremost being the Lost Forges. This new matchmaking activity, as described in the official press release, can be tackled by up to three players and, if the team survives the ordeal, they'll have the ability to unlock new weapons and gear "created by three separate cultures lost to time." In addition to this new activity, here are the other things players can expect first from the Destiny 2: Forsaken Annual Pass:
Players will be scrambling to acquire a host of new weapons, including the return of Heavy Machine Guns. The weapons will bear the mark of the Black Armory and "come equipped with new weapon mods that can be applied to all Forsaken weapons." As time progresses, the Destiny 2: Forsaken Annual Pass will unlock additional content beyond the Black Armory:
Destiny 2's previous update, 1.29, improved Supers and added new pinnacle weapons to the online shooter experience as part of a new season. The Destiny 2: Forsaken Annual Pass costs $34.99 and will supply Destiny 2 players with new content from today all the way to August 2019. Purchasing the pass also nets players 1,000 Silver. Players have to own Destiny 2 and all expansions in order to access Annual Pass content.
