It's been over four years since fans of the Dragon Age series have had a new game to play. Following the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition back in 2014, the developers at BioWare moved on to other projects, leaving their fantasy RPG series on the backburner. They haven't forgotten about it, though, and it seems like the team may have some fresh news for Dragon Age fans just beyond the horizon.
According to a recent post on the BioWare blog, the developers have some fresh news regarding Dragon Age on the way. They're keeping tight-lipped on details for the moment, but BioWare's General Manager Casey Hudson has indicated that series fans can expect some new details by the end of the year.
"If you’ve been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we’re also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff," Hudson said. "Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy. Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won’t tell you where to look…)"
There's not too much to go on here, but the aforementioned quote does at least provide hyperlinks to both Hudson's Twitter account as well as Executive Producer Mark Darrah's Twitter account. Hudson may not be telling fans where they'll announce the news, but considering the context, it's fairly safe to say that we can expect details from the announcement—or at least references to the pending announcement—to appear on the developer's social media channels.
Four years is a long time to wait for a fresh title in a fan-favorite series, but it appears that we won't have to wait too much longer before catching a glimpse of where the series will go next. For all the latest Dragon Age details, keep it tuned right here to Shacknews.
