Bethesda drops Fallout 76 price to $35

While things don't quite spell doom for Bethesda's online multiplayer Fallout entry, things are at least concerning. As of today, Fallout 76 can be purchased for $35, which is half its launch price. The concerning part is that the game only launched this month on November 14, 2018.

PC Gamer spotted the news, pointing out that Fallout 76 is available for $34.99 on Amazon. The game had its price slashed one previous time as well, coming down to $40 for Black Friday. If you're counting, that's two significant price drops in less than a month. A few bucks off during Black Friday and Cyber Monday is common, but coming down so low will certainly raise a few eyebrows.

Coupled with the major price drop, the news about Fallout 76 PC players receiving refunds from Bethesda raises even more eyebrows. The developers aren't just sitting around, though. The last major update for Fallout 76 was pretty massive and was released with the intentions of addressing a lot of player concerns, from bugs to item drops.

There are still plenty of people playing and enjoying Fallout 76, and it is clear the development team is going to continue improving and supporting it. Fallout is no small name and Bethesda will likely put as many resources as needed behind it to keep it thriving and mold it into something the community enjoys for the long term.

Fallout 76 launched November 14, 2018, and is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
