What do you get when you mix llamas and linebackers? In the "ultimate football face-off," Epic Games' Fortnite and the NFL are teaming up to bring official NFL-themed outfits into the shooter's Item Shop. The new gear goes live November 9, 2018, at 7 PM ET.
The writing for this deal may have been on the wall. Twitch and Fortnite are closely tied together and the former recently struck up a deal where Thursday Night Football NFL matchups are streamed on Twitch. It looks like the NFL has no problem at all getting cozy with one of the largest livestreaming platforms and one of the biggest game launches in recent years.
Thankfully, you won't have to purchase separate outfits if you want gear for different teams. As described on the official Fortnite website, each outfit can be swapped to any of the 32 NFL teams and there's one unique Fortnite team as well.
Fortnite: Battle Royale is available for free on PC, Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. The Save the World mode is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Fortnite: Save the World will likely go free-to-play sometime in 2019 and will likely appear on other platforms. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
