Players can craft many things in Red Dead Redemption 2 but some of the best items to craft are talismans and trinkets. Crafting a talisman and trinket requires a bit of work as they all need rare items as part of their ingredient list. Spending the time to find these rare items, and then craft the trinkets and talismans, is a good idea, especially early on in the game as they will help players level up their abilities quickly.

What are talismans and trinkets?

Talismans and trinkets are items that can be crafted in Red Dead Redemption 2 using special items. All of these have a massive effect on the various abilities and stats of Arthur. One trinket might alter the duration of Dead Eye while another affects the stamina of your horse. When a trinket or talisman is crafted, it will automatically apply its buff to Arthur, meaning you do not have to “equip” the item once it’s made. More importantly, all these effects are permanent.

When can talismans and trinkets be crafted?

Talismans and trinkets can be crafted a few missions after reaching Valentine. Players will need to unlock a fence, which can be accomplished by finding one in Saint Denis or by helping Hosea with a few jobs. A few of these talismans and trinkets require players to hunt down and complete a few collectible quests, making them a bit more time-consuming to craft than others on the list below.

How to craft talismans and trinkets

To craft a talisman or trinket in Red Dead Redemption 2, players will need to visit any fence in the game. Fences give players the option to sell hot items, purchase strange and powerful equipment, and craft talismans and trinkets for a cost.

In order to craft the trinket or talisman, players will need to ensure they have the correct resources on hand. A few of the items, such as silver earrings, can be sold or offered to the camp provisions, making them easy to lose track of. Players should pay special attention to the item they wish to craft and the items needed in crafting it, lest they accidentally sell one of the more difficult to acquire pieces.

With all resources in the satchel, head to one of the many fences around Red Dead Redemption 2 and select the “craft” option. Find the talisman or trinket that you wish to craft and hand over the money to complete the transaction.

All talismans and trinkets effects
