Arabian horse location in Red Dead Redemption 2
The powerful Arabian horse is among the best rare horses in Red Dead Redemption 2, and we've got a location and tips on how to tame it.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game about being the best — or perhaps the worst — outlaw that the Old West has ever seen. Part of that not only entails collecting all of the best weapons and gear possible, but also tracking down a horse worthy of legend. As it so happens, there's one rare horse in Rockstar Games' latest that easily matches or outclasses the others: the white Arabian horse found in the north. As luck would have it, we know it's exact location.
Arabian horse location
The rare white Arabian horse is located near the northwestern edge of the map, right around Lake Isabella, on the western side of the region known as Ambarino. This particular horse is stark white, meaning it may be hard to track within the snowy environment.
As might be expected from such a wild and capable steed, the Arabian horse is largely unruly. Players will want to practice the utmost care, tracking it as needed before making a slow approach. Taming it will not be easy; it has a tendency to either run right away from the hero, or buck it off after being mounted. In once instance, the horse bucked Arthur off and ran straight into the lake, where it prompty drowned. Fortunately, we do have some tips on how to break and tame the beast.
How to tame the Arabian horse
While approaching the Arabian horse, keep holding L2/LT to lock onto it (without anything in your hands). When option to Calm it pops up, press the corresponding button before the bar runs out, then keep slowly walking while still holding L2/LT. Once in close proximity, the option to Pat the horse will pop up. Do this, then attempt to mount it.
The horse will likely freak out and try to buck you off. To counter it, pull back on L3/Left Stick and keep pressing Square/X to calm it. Keep an eye on the bottom right corner of the screen, and the moment Calm pops up, press it. Keep repeating this process until the horse is broken and can be safely ridden. Just be careful of the lake — a drowned horse is a useless horse, after all..
If things go well, players will be able to climb on board and start taming the horse. Stay on top of it and guide its direction until the game offers a prompt stating that the horse has been properly broken. After that, it's a simple matter of adorning it with the player's preferred saddle in order to claim it for future use.
For their efforts, players will be rewarded with a horse offering Elite-level handling and top-tier ratings in health, stamina, and speed. More information on how this whole process works can be found in the video above, offered up by Arekkz Gaming over on YouTube.
Finding the location of the rare Arabian horse and claiming the hero's legendary steed (and arguably the best horse in the entire game) takes a little bit of time and effort, but the rewards easily justify the means.
