As players make their way through Red Dead Redemption 2 they are bound to get dirty. Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang tend to get into trouble, and trouble in 1899 America means getting muddy. In most games the dirt and mud would magically disappear over time, but not here. Players must take care of Arthur Morgan, making sure he takes a bath every so often to prevent people from making jokes and treating him like, well… dirt. Be sure you know how to take a bath in Red Dead Redemption 2 before you go rolling in the mud.
The easiest way to take a bath in Red Dead Redemption 2 is to head into the nearest town and head for the hotel. Once inside, speak to the hotel owner and you’ll get a list of services available. Renting a room is only $1, and taking a bath is even cheaper at $0.25. There is a chance these prices will ramp up as the game progresses and new locations are unlocked, but even in the early game Arthur Morgan should have more than enough money to cover this cost.
Once you’ve paid for your bath, look at the local map. One of the rooms will have an icon of a bath on it and heading to that room will initiate an interactive cinematic where Arthur is free to wash himself or put down and extra $0.50 to have someone come in and do the scrubbing for him. You can instruct the help to wash any of your four limbs, and you can carry on small talk (or not) with your company. When the bath is over Arthur will emerge from the room clean, with even the clothes that he’s wearing having been washed. Just make sure that Arthur didn’t lose his hat in whatever nonsense got him dirty in the first place.
