We already know Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be a massive game with plenty for players to explore, but Rockstar has one explicit goal in mind when it comes to the game.
Producer Dan Houser states that the developer's goal for Red Dead Redemption 2 is to "slip as much art under the hood without players noticing it — but they don’t have to notice it." He clarifies that the game can just be "mud, blood, and gore," in a reference to the fact that players can simply bypass a good portion of the story if they choose, though it's hard to imagine who's playing a game like this without paying attention to a modicum of the story. Seems as though it would be pretty boring otherwise.
Red Dead Redemption 2's release date is galloping ever closer to use later this month on October 26. It'll debut on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, though we don't have a confirmed PC release date just yet. If you want to get in on the 2,000 page-script that the full game is comprised of, or the 80-page scripts for the NPCs alone, you'll want to clear your schedule fo a day full of roaming the Wild Wild West. It's going to be a time sink and a half.
