Heroes of the Storm developer interview on limited-time events, Mephisto, and more

Blizzard has been busy updating Heroes of the Storm over the past few weeks. In addition to adding new Hero character Mephisto, of Diablo fame, the game has also seen a couple of revamps. Blizzard has overhauled the Hanamura Temple battleground, while also reworking Tyrande to help her work better with the modern meta. But what else does Blizzard have in store for its ongoing MOBA?

Shacknews recently caught up to lead content designer Matthew Cooper to discuss what's come to Heroes of the Storm. But we also had some questions regarding events, such as Echoes of Alterac, and how Blizzard decides on what to do next.

"I think the Echoes of Alterac was obvious," Cooper told Shacknews. "We knew this was the year for the World of Warcraft expansion, going back to that Horde vs. Alliance theme. And Alterac Pass being that iconic Alterac Valley tileset and battleground, we knew that was going to be Horde vs. Alliance. I think, in general, for the Nexomania one, it's just finding something that makes sense for the theme, something that players can get behind, and so for that, you choose Lunara or Sonya and get behind one of the sides and we're definitely looking to explore more of that in the future, as well."

Cooper also discusses Mephisto, the Hanamura Temple rework, deciding on Hero roles, and more.
