Square Enix's upcoming "survival action shooter" Left Alive was graced with a frenetic new trailer today during Sony's pre-TGS 2018 conference. The new "Invasion of Novo Slava" footage takes place in December 2127, showing off a war-torn city that's in dire need of assistance as two armies work to confront each other (for reasons ultimately unknown at this point). All you need to know about currently with this "struggle for survival," as the trailer relates, is that there are mechs. Tons of them, shooting each other. And it looks awesome.
The development team's Toshifumi Nabeshima brings a pedigree of past work on the Armored Core series, with mech designer Takayuki Yanase (Gundam and Ghost in the Shell titles) as well as the famed Yoji Shinkawa, the Metal Gear Solid characters designer. It's got something of a dream team to bring the mech genre to life, but it remains to be seen how well the game will work in practice. This trailer certainly makes it look very appealing, at the very least.
Left Alive is targeting a 2019 launch on PlayStation 4 and Steam, though there's no concrete release date just yet. When there's one announced, you can bet we'll add it to our extensive 2019 video game release schedule. In the meantime, why not check out 2018's game release schedule to see what's still coming up?
