Anyone would be justified for having concerns about exactly how Starlink: Battle for Atlas would work out after its intriguing debut at E3 2017. While games like Skylanders popularized using physical objects to alter and work with a game world, Starlink: Battle for Atlas is taking a slightly different approach by letting players build out their modular ships in-hand prior to using them in-game. As we approach the game’s release, Ubisoft has allowed us to play and capture footage of the game running on the Xbox One X. In this exclusive video below, you can get a glimpse of exactly how ship construction and its effects on gameplay work in practice.
Ubisoft also made waves when it was announced that the Nintendo Switch version of the game would offer the chance to pilot the famous Arwing ship from Starfox. Ubisoft even had Shigeru Miyamoto show up on its E3 2018 press event stage while holding the Arwing model that would be used in the game.
Players who are ready to dive into the Battle for Atlas can get into the action when the game releases on the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 16.
