After celebrating its Year 3 Anniversary, Rocket League is now deploying one of its most significant updates to date. Psyonix's breakout hit is following up on its promise to revamp the game's progression system, while also adding some noteworthy new features.
Wednesday's 1.50 patch sees Rocket League progression rebuilt from scratch, removing the level cap and flattening out the amount of XP needed to level up. Leveling up will also mean earning a new random Uncommon item or better. Furthermore, players will now only be able to earn XP via online matches. All XP earned over the course of the game to this point will now be converted to this new system.
Psyonix is also moving forward on the long-awaited 'Clubs' social feature. Players can now craft clubs of up to 20 members, with the ability to invite new members, set news, assign colors, and create or join Private Matches. The Club system is in its infancy, so those looking to invite their friends on other platforms will have to wait until a little later in 2018.
Other changes include preparations for Rocket Pass 1 and other various quality of life improvements. Find the full list of changes on the Rocket League website.
