Lego-branded games have become a mainstay in the world of licensed video games over the last decade. Everything from Star Wars to Spider-man has been represented by the diminutive brick-world people and the fun will continue this fall when Lego DC Super-Villains arrives on consoles and PC.
While at San Diego Comic-Con, we ran into Ames Kirshen, Executive Producer on the Batman Arkham series and Vice President of DC’s Interactive/Animation division, and asked him about the role that the Lego games play in the greater DC Universe.
Kirshen explains that the Lego DC games are intended to help introduce the characters and worlds of the DC Universe to a younger generation via a more family-friendly presentation. Lego DC Super-Villains is a fresh take on on a Lego game because it focuses on a group of characters who have traditionally been bad guys. Developer Traveller’s Tales is tasked with bringing this Lego world to life while keeping things appealing to players of all ages.
Lego DC Super-Villans will arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 16. To keep on top of the latest video game industry coverage and events like San Diego Comic Con, E3, or PAX, be sure to follow both Shacknews and GamerHub.tv over on YouTube.
